📌 Lisbon
(Third segment)
History:
🧭 Torre de Belém (Belém Tower) was constructed as part of a defense system and as a ceremonial gateway to Lisbon.
The structure stands on a small island in the Rio Tejo (Tagus River), near the shore.
Torre de Belém has become one of Lisbon's most iconic landmarks and a symbol of the Age of Discoveries.
It was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1983, together with the nearby Mosteiro dos Jerónimos (Jerónimos Monastery), in recognition of its significant role in Portuguese maritime history and its architectural beauty.

Culture:
🚋 Os Eléctricos (The Trams) in Lisbon are not only a mode of public transport but also an iconic symbol of the city, blending historical charm with practical urban mobility.
The most distinctive and celebrated of Lisbon's eléctricos is the number 28, which wanders through some historic neighborhoods.
Os eléctricos have become deeply ingrained in Lisbon's identity, celebrated in art, literature and everyday life.
For many visitors, a ride on a Lisbon tram is a must-do experience, offering a unique way to explore the city's history, culture and panoramic views.

Culinary:
🍽️ Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato is a classic Portuguese dish that is particularly associated with Lisbon but is also a cherished recipe in homes across Portugal, symbolizing the country's rich maritime heritage.
The main ingredient is clams, which are cooked in a savory and aromatic broth, prepared with olive oil, garlic, cilantro, salt, pepper, dry white wine, lemon juice and sometimes onion.
Amêijoas à Bulhão Pato is often served with crusty Portuguese bread, perfect for soaking up the flavorful broth.
It is a popular appetizer but can also serve as a main course.
